Vecoplan LLC manufactures industrial shredding, conveying, and recycling systems for plastics, wood, paper, and waste. Their Greensboro, North Carolina operation designs single-shaft shredders, custom processing lines, and material-handling equipment used in converting, scrap, RDF/WTE, C&D, and recovery applications.

For DarkStar projects, Vecoplan is the front end of the line. Mixed and contaminated plastics have to be reduced to a consistent particle size and fed reliably before they reach an ARTI reactor. Vecoplan equipment is specified for those dirty, metal-laden, and film-heavy streams so the pyrolysis plant is fed instead of starved or jammed.
